International Travel with Infant

Hello Everyone,
First time post...but a long time reader...Thank you!

I apologize if this has been addressed, if so just give me the link and I will start reading.

My family (wife, infant daughter and myself) will be traveling to Italy next summer and I would like to fly C class. What is the best way to travel in C with an infant....financially? My understanding is that you must pay 10% of the fare plus taxes.

I have enough miles for my wife, so I was thinking of purchasing economy for myself and my daughter and then using SWU to upgrade...thus paying 10% of an economy fare instead of a C class fare.

Is that possible? Any other suggestions?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
