We've been to Japan twice, we love the long EWR-NRT or IAH-NRT flights (in BF, of course), and we've read about how some of the CO employees got married on the tarmac, with photos of the couple standing inside the engine of a 777. So, we thought: could we get married somewhere right around the Intl date line, onboard the flight? It would be pretty cool, we think.
Of course, there's all kinds of logistical issues: other pax who may not care, no music, the need to find an officiant who we'd have to pay to fly, etc etc. (And lest someone beat me to it, the whole "mile-high club" issue would have to be put to rest.)
Anybody ever heard of such a thing being done?
If you and your wedding party bought BF tickets to NRT (i.e.: bought out 2 or 3 rows of the cabin), I am sure CO and their public relations machine would be all over this to make this idea a reality.
If captains of ships can marry in international waters, I wonder if captains of planes can marry in international skies.
