This whole process took us close to 1h45m, given line ups were relatively short. FYI, it was a MU to MU transfer. I was flying HKG-PVG-YVR.
It's going to be on one ticket, probably coming in on KA and transferring to AC.
Got a deal for under $2500 in J to YVR from any Pacific gateway and back via ICN, but wouldn't mind maximising the flight with a sidetrip to YYZ in this case.
