Looking at the seat maps on the Emirates site, it looks like 38 is the bulkhead row - but only on the middle 4 seats (G,F,E,D). IMO, you are just as likely to get a baby here than on row 8.

Row 37 is the exit row for the 3 seats on each side (A,B,C,H,J,K). Make sure you're not in any of these seats on row 38, as they tend to be the worst of the whole plane, as you get the IFE box of the seat in front taking up most of the legroom).
