I find this rather remarkable. I spent many hours trying to get a cheap fare SFO-FRA, and all the low cost fares routed through LHR. I thought that made sense since nobody in their right mind wants to connect through LHR. I guess it doesn't matter as much if you are terminating in LHR, but I would think the planes would be relatively (compared with flights to other European cities) empty. Sigh.
