I registered for this a while back and have used it successfully a few times. But last time coming in from JFK and very tired and frustrated it just didn't work. It also had not worked for about 50% of the people in front of me. It must be just temperamental. Question - judging by the queues in front of it these days, it has moved beyond the experimental phase. Isn't it time for more than 1 scanner?
