Marriott should have their internet providers constantly upgrade their infrastructure and provide faster download speeds, along with greater capacity. 1 Mbps should be the bare minimum download speed, and the maximum should be at least 5 Mbps for FS properties. I can get 5 Mbps from Cox at home, and I expect Marriott to provide a similar level of service.
