Marriott Wailea - Maui - Not so Happy Experience

Good Afternoon all:
I just returned from a wonderful trip to Hawaii where i spent 3 nights on Maui at the Marriott Wailea.

Prior to my trip, i was a little concened because the website mentioned it was under rennovations outside. This didn't really end up being a problem.

When making my reservation, i used the code "otb" which provided me with breakfast and a $100 marriott certificate by using our visa.

My problems started at check in. The front desk clerk seemed more interested in "selling me" an upgraded room than making sure my check in experience was a happy one.

When going over the room we reserved, he relucted to say anything about the "visa bucks" promo or the "free breakfast" that was to be included with our rate. I mentioned it and i basically had to "prove" that we were to get breakfast by providing a copy of our confirmation. Then i asked about the "visa bucks" and he didn't know anything about it.

The next morning, i paid the $10 to get on the internet to just "confirm" that i was supposed to get the Marriott certificate as well. We were, so i went to the front desk and inquired about this. Again, they denied that we were to get anything and stated that this was something "marriott corporate" would do.

After breakfast, i spent 20 minutes on the phone with Marriott and Marriott customer service. I explained this to them and they took care of it. They call the hotel directly and had them miraculously, they hotel was able to provide us with the certificate.

When we went to our room, i was "unimpressed" with the appearance of the room, but we lived with it.

Our final "problem" was when we went to check out, they charged us for breakfast for our last day - even though we were to get free breakfast. Of course, they fixed the problem, but it was yet another thing i had to deal with when we were there.

Unfortunately, i dont think i would ever stay at this property again!
