Returning to the topic of this post:

I agree with the OP about ICN airport for the ICN - MUC flight. I arrived from Beijing without the boarding pass for the LH flight and it was really nightmare.

All the transfer counters at the arrival area at ICN were closed when I arrived at approx 9:30 pm. In order to change from the arrival level to the departure level, you normally need to have a boarding pass already. After some discussions with the security people that I do not have my BP yet, they wantend to see may ticket or booking record. Unfortunately I had an electronic ticket and had changed my travel date, resulting in another lengthy discussion. Finally they let me pass to the departure are, where again all transfer counters were closed. The lady at the information counter called LH for me and they told me that I will receive my BP at the gate .

In the SQ lounge (which is normally very good) they had removed already all the food items (except for some nuts and crackers) as well as the liquor bottles .

Once in the aircraft, we had to wait approx. 20 mins on the ground, and the capatain informed us that we have to wait because otherwise we would arrive in MUC before 5 am, and landing in MUC is not permitted prior to 5 am.

But in general I was very happy with the flight due to it's convenient schedule. I prefer a night flight (where you can spend your time sleeping most of the time) to any 12 hr day flight.
