Wife and I where on QF LHR-HKG a few weeks ago. 1A and 1K. I selected these seats because on BA and CX we usually take these seats. Quiet, Privacy and still close enough to talk.
Not such a good choice on QF. The magazine rack is in the cabinet beween the two seats. So you have a constant flow of people looking for/returning mag's very close and occasionaly bumping into you when you sleep. Also the two doors of the cabinet open in a way that the hinge are of the door extends, also bumping into you when you sleep. We have been woken up by this several times during the flight.
The groups of middle seats are also not a good choice, because they have not much privacy and the aisle is small - resulting in people bumping into your seat and waking you up.
Likely the best seats for sleeping and protection from beeing bumped in are 2A and K. I would take these on night flights - even beeing fairly far apart. I would take 1A and K on day flights. And if you really need to take the middle seats dont take the first row, they have the least amount of space.

Or take an airline with better seats like CX (Ony 12 seats in the nose in the old and 9 in the new config).
