If it beeps to collect the flight coupon (paper ticket) the agent must scan their card. When there is an exit row, there is no need to scan the ID card.
There is also a misc error beep message. This beeps when pax are getting on the wrong flight or changed their flights and thry to get on the originaly flight. This happens with a lot with heavy IROP when itineraries change without the pax knowing.
