My husband checked into the HP Universal last night to round out a stay and earn a FFN. It is very well located near Universal studios.
That's where the good part ends.
The parking lot is tiny with no place to pull up for check in. There is 1 person at the front desk who also has to answer the phone. It took a while to check in simply because she had to keep answering the phone.
We didn't get any hotel info at check in - she said her manager locks the sleeves at night.

So we had a piece of paper with our room number on it and that's it. Their system also didn't have the GP number on it, and had to add it manually.
The room was a decent size with 2 full size beds and a large sitting area with sectional couch. It smelled musty. I didn't touch or sit on anything... I didn't have the nerve.
The bathtub was moldy, though the furniture was pretty new. It looked like Hyatt style furniture. The sink was also new.
We were left almost speechless that Hyatt would put their name on a hotel such as this.
I really was expecting more, particularly since using a local SS for mattress runs. This place was so far from a SS that I consider it at Motel 6 (or worse) level. Actually, I consider it more of a no-tell motel
Granted - it was $89 per night and it is a holiday weekend, but, there is no way I would have slept in this hotel. The car would have been better.
I went running and for a mere $60 more per night, checked into the Grand Cypress, was welcomed with open arms by people who recognized us, and was happy to be back in civilization
Check out was trouble free, though I didn't see any specific MC notation. I suspect this stay is going to require a phone call. They did have check in kiosks but we didn't use them.
I wouldn't consider this property for anything more than a mattress run where you don't sleep there. For a bit more money, there are better options, including the value resort on Disney property.
