Actually, none of the AA/AE pilots wear gold stripes. All wear silver stripes. The way to tell AE and AE pilots apart is by looking closely at their wings (or just their employee ID card if it's visible).

AA flight attendants have three stripes on their blazers: two silver with a gold one in between. AE flight attendants have two stripes: one silver, one gold.



Recently, I have seen a few domestic mainline FAs with two silver stripes that look considerably wider than the normal FA stripes. I'm not sure why... It seems to be on female FAs only, near the elbow on the sleeves, for those who wear the short-sleeved dresses.
