Go ahead, rub it in. Fat Tire is only distributed to 15 states. More to the point, neither Fat Tire nor any other New Belgium beer is sold in my part of the country.

To give you a more serious answer, I have never had a beer from NBB (New Belgium Brewing) that I didn't think highly of. For general drinking, I'd probably point to their Fat Tire flagship, the Mothership Wit and 1554 Brussels Black Ale. For special occasions, NBB's La Folie would be on my very short list of beers from anywhere in the world. Why is it called "the folly"? Because it's a beer that costs them more to make than they possibly can sell it for. But this limited edition beer (only 3,000 750ml bottles a year if I remember correctly) isn't about making a profit, it's about making the best beer they can and hang the expense.

And if you're ever near Ft. Collins, take in a movie or take the brewery's tour.
