What happened: Checked in at MHH for flights to MIA then to DFW... seats for 5 travelers were NONE of those reserved online, and we were no longer seated together. When we got to MIA for check-in, we were moved again (gate agent scribbled over our MHH issued boarding passes with new numbers) - and we were scattered even further around the plane!
Compensation: 5k miles deposited to account about a week after letter was faxed to AA. (faxed letter because I couldn't keep it below the "character max" for the online customer service portal)
Comments: Happy with a reply, but wish more miles would have been deposited... and to everyone in our party, not just to my account.
UPDATE: I emailed AA customer service thanking them for the goodwill gesture, but asking if it wouldn't be appropriate to credit all (5) of our accounts, since we were all inconvenienced... included AA #'s of others, and they were credited with 5k, as well.
