Bottom line is that CX's new J is designed solely for solo travellers who want to sleep. If you wish to:
- travel as a couple (conversing, holding hands, whatever), or
- travel with an infant or child who isn't comfortable being left on their own, interacting by themselves with FAs, etc, for several hours, or
- look out of a window at the scenery that you're flying over, or
- read a newspaper comfortably
then CX isn't interested in your business. Fortunately, these days we have plenty of choice on most routes.
And for those who drink a lot on flights and has to go to the bathroom frequently. It is almost impossible to go to the bathroom when you are watching a movie and having a meal at the same time. First you have to hold the meal tray, then stow the PTV, then put back the meal tray, and finally you have to get past the food cart. So much more troublesome than row 86 on the old config where you just slide the table to the side and you are out.
