If your sister uses any points then she will be fine as it will still show in her accont points earned this year towards status level.
If she wants she can purchase points at these rates:
1,000 to 5,000 points US $12.50 per 1,000 points
6,000 to 9,000 points US $11.00 per 1,000 points
10,000 to 20,000 points US $10.00 per 1,000 points
As soon as the points are added to the account and she goes over the 60k earned this year (including purchased points) she will become platinum.
The good thing about buying the poins just now is that its only 100 dollars for 10k of points, this can get you two 5k reward nights...so might be worth while buying some.
