How do you find out if meals are offered

Hi guys/gals-

Did a quick search and I couldn't find anything. Can you tell me how to find out if meals are served on my flights? I'll be flying ATL - OGG via LAX next week

Additionally any advice on deboarding the plane in LAX? Our layover is only about 45 minutes and we stay on the same plane to OGG. Surprisingly I've never flown through LAX, worth getting off the plane to see the airport at all, or does it look like every other airport in the world?
