Just start your first segment (to LAX) on/before and you might be able to get connecting flights afterwards (as long as those connecting flights are in the 24 hours non-stopover-counting window) on the rtw covered (you will know at reservation time if it works out, The Upgrade Coupon will be taken away for the first segment before expiry and you will also already have (after haing check-in for the first segment) subsequent (upgraded) boarding passes in your hand. ;D
