That said after maximizing three cards (PPE), im out of the TYN game. Im back on SPG Amex as 3cpm just doesnt cut the benefits which I reckon to be:

1)Seat Guarantee
2)Miles / Status

For me at least the benefits do not outweigh the restrictions. Man was it good until it lasted...

Haven't been up to date on this thread but would be curious to know who is bolting (bolted) and stayed and why... I cant seem to figure out why I should stay with it given that my redemptions are long-haul J.

I am staying and earning like crazy. Here is why:

1) My redemptions are long haul J to India -- planned at least 1 yr out in advance. With that in mind, a $7200 cap can be easily had in CX J and close to SQ J.

2) point earning is still very good. You can earn 3pts per $ spent on all purchases with the PLAT AMEX CITI card.

3)they have loosened up on the ticket rules a bit now. This is not published but I have good knowledge on what is legal and what is not.

So, iut is still a good program as long as you plan ahead of time. You can still earn FF miles and upgrade the seat since you know what fare class you are booking into.

Still better than SPG AMEX for NON STATUS FLYERS
