Try the manager again. Explain that the corporate travel person could not get you within your company's budget of $105, just the client's rate of $141. Remind him you're talking about weeks of stays, not just a few nites. Be prepared to negotiate. Would you accept $125/night?

It may also help for you to tell us the property. But honestly, the $36 difference between the Hampton and Sharaton sounds about right or even a deal in most markets.
