I am not a true coffee snob, so you'll want to take this with a grain of salt.

That being said, I do really like Otherlands on Cooper. I like the Cooper-Young area in general so I tend to always get my coffee there when I'm in town.

Edited to add: Aw, sorry, I missed the "downtown" part. I see that there's a Cafe Francisco there, though I haven't been. You may want to call to verify they're still open since the website information is minimal. All my favorite downtown places seem to have short shelf lives, so you never know
