Please read the Hilton T&C and do a search in this forum as this subject has been discussed. 
My answer, if you were traveling with her, would be - you book and add her name as a second guest. However, you've worded your original post as you're not traveling with her. Benefits are for the diamond elite member.
If you want to know about upgrades or information I suggest you research the exact property she will be staying at and post further information in that thread.
As always with a situation like this (your experience, well in this case your wifes) YMMV.
