may be I should add, that it is no problem (and is allowed by the airlines ff-program-policies) to use UA-upgrade-vouchers (or miles) on UA flights (with PremEx/1K reservations privileges) and switch the mileage-credit for the flight, at check-in-time to LH's miles&more program and vice-versa from LH to UA.
