Personally, it should be allowed as a medical assist device. According to the chart on this page, support braces are permitted. While there are other threads in this forum that indicate, correctly, that the TSA is not permitted to ask for justifications of medical necessity, you may want to ask your doctor to write a 'scrip justifying the brace and have it in your carry-on, in case they try to give you sh!t about it.
