I don't think the 125k elite choice is enough to warrant flying UA in Y for another 25k-30k miles unless the CR-1 or EQM carryover/triple Sept choice is useful.
To the OP - what does your upcoming travel look like? Are you looking at Y or C fares? How much more do you expect to fly this year? Is it mostly int'l?
It sounds like you'll have plenty of use for the UA SWUs next year, so whether you get them in Nov or Jan doesn't sound like it would be a big deal. Flying another 50k on UA to get an extra 2 SWUs and maybe 2-4 CR1s doesn't sound like a good trade for 4 eVIPs on AA unless (1) you have serious doubts about whether or not the eVIPs would clear or (2) most of your travel is becomes domestic, making CR1s more useful.
