Since you cannot move MR points directly to AA, you can use any of the two MR parterns(Hilton and Starwood) to move points and then transfer to AA, but with a great devaluation.

But if you are determined to move points from MR and convert them ultimately to AA, then use this option MR>Continental or Delta>Hilton.. Why? When transferring from Continental or Delta, you'll get 2000 HHonors points for every 1,000 miles. So if you use that option you'll end up with more AA miles than if you used Starwood.
