I'm still very much of the opinion that AA is the best OW programme out there. Whilst there is the question of domestic lounge access not being possible with AA status, now that Amex Plat provides this access, combining the two gives the best result possible outcome.
The QF programme is the worst earning/burning programme possible out of all the major programmes in OW. It's really only worth joining if you want to earn miles to upgrade on long haul QF segments (which is why I am still a member). QF also has now enforced the 4 segment rule - further details can be obtained via a simple search of the QF forum.
BA is a better programme than QF, but at the end of the day, the AA programme still gives substantially more bang for your buck if you plan on sticking to OneWorld carriers. Whilst it does restrict you to flying across the pond on AA, there could be worse airlines you could fly. Also when it comes to telephone customer service, AA is head and shoulders above BA. Try arranging a complex fare over the phone or even dealing with an issue with your FF account with BA and you will find it infinitely more difficult to get a satisfactory outcome (and most likely more expensive). I suspect this is the difference between the US and UK customer service ethos.
