Are certain flights really sold out 9 months in advance?
I am arranging a trip for family and friends to the Big Island for late May-early June, 2008. In looking at available flights and times from HNL-KOA on May 28, the Hawaiian Airlines website shows only First Class availability on the 1:35PM and 2:20PM flights. No coach seats for sale. Could this really be the case, or are they just trying to force you to buy a higher fare knowing that these are popular times considering arrivials from the Mainland?
Several people are working FF awards with arrivial times into HNL at around mid-day and would want to catch the earliest onward flight. If flights are actually sold out in coach, I guess they can work what they can; however, if these flights will open up later, I will tell them to wait a while before buying a HNL-KOA RT.
