I understood SNAGuy's question to be about a codeshare, a flight operated by NW but ticketed by DL using a virtual flight number that DL assigns to a block of seats that they control. Codeshares are common industrywide, for example CO offers codeshare seats on MIA-LHR flights operated by VS, and AA/AS codeshare several routes. However, CO, DL and NW launched a particularly large codeshare venture in 2003...
