This could not be the case since ICs only provide a basic 2K (plus various bonuses if applicable) per stay and nothing for incidental room charges. The clerk must have not been familiar with the program, and when the folio was sent on to Salt Lake City for processing, your miscellaneous charges were booked as a valid room charge and thus you'd have received the 2K in error.
Perhaps you could copy and paste/post the details of how this stay appears on your on-line statement for our clarification. Did you also receive credit for the actual nights or just a "0" in that spot, with the 2K as the number of points earned?
In any case, consider yourself lucky because you should not have received anything for the stay.
