Try rereading the OP's post.... he was not insisting to go in the line HE wanted to. He only asked if he could go in the line that looked shorter, and was treated to a lecture about Federal Law and other such nonsense in a way that was snotty or rude or condescending, then when he spoke up, was threatened with having the police called.
