Is this AmEx card with the $450 annual fee the only AmEx Platinum card? I ask because someone I know whose spending is wildly out of control supposedly carries an AmEx "Platinum" card and I am trying to figure out why. I was told it helps them get upgrades on flights to Hawaii. Is that plausible? Are airline upgrades (AA, CO, or DL) a benefit of this AmEx card or any other?
