The fact that the benefit was not explicitely stated on aircanada.com does not mean that (for 3 years) this was an unintentional benefit because of a "loophole" (which AC stated was fixed on Aug 5, 2007).

My argument would be that this should have been considered an unpublished benefit (x 3 years), and AC should just state (better p.r.) that it was revoked/reversed/rescinded on Aug 5, 2007, rather than this loophole of an unintentional benefit was closed on that date.

A major example of an unpublished benefit relates to those flight segments on AC taken as part of a business class or first class RTW ticket. Such segments are booked in "C" class.

Now, under usual circumstances, if AC flights are domestic, transborder, or destined for the UK, they will earn 50% COS bonus. If destined to Europe, they will earn 25% COS bonus. However, most of flights booked on other routes in C class earn no COS bonus (ie Asia, South America). These latter flights would earn the 25% COS bonus, if part of a RTW business class/first class itinerary - and if the passenger pro-actively asks Aeroplan to give him/her these extra credits.
