Another vote for Amex from me - and not just the comp policy with Plat/Cent. I've only had to claim twice on my policy in about 9 years, but they were absolutely superb in both cases. Better still, when my Grandparents claimed on a paid-for Amex policy on a recent trip, the level of service (if not quite the cover) was also first class. Not relevant to go into the detail, but suffice to say that they seemed to whole-heartedly embrace the TCF (Treating Customers Fairly) principles which the Financial Services Authority has recently imposed on the general insurance industry, years before the FSA caught up. Honestly, I've been very impressed by them.
