Delays for New Zealand flights are covered by
Part 9B of the
Civil Aviation Act 1990.

Carriage wholly within New Zealand, which is not international carriage as defined by the Montreal Convention, is subject to the provisions of the Carriage of Goods Act 1979 and Part 9B of the Civil Aviation Act 1990. The following provisions apply to Qantas' liability for carriage wholly within New Zealand:
* For damage caused by delay in the carriage of passengers, Qantas' liability will be governed by Part 9B of the Civil Aviation Act 1990. In circumstances where Qantas is liable for damage caused by delay, its liability will be limited to the lesser of the amount of damage which is proved to be sustained as a result of the delay or an amount representing 10 times the sum paid for the carriage.

Carriage wholly within New Zealand, which is not international carriage as defined by the Warsaw Convention or Montreal Convention as applicable (the "Conventions"), is subject to the provisions of Part 9B of the Civil Aviation Act 1990 and the Carriage of Goods Act 1979. The liability of the carrier for domestic carriage wholly within New Zealand:
* for delay shall be as set out in Part 9B of the Civil Aviation Act 1990.
