I am interested in soliciting the UK issued International Dollar Platinum card and was wondering a few things:

First off, I currently have an AMEX Gold Card (charge) and AMEX Gold Credit card that are issued in Spain. On the AMEX Gold charge, I spend on average 2.000 € a month, sometimes significantly more if I travel for work.
I have been wanting to upgrade to the Platinum Card and would prefer to get it as an International Dollar card rather than just upgrade and get a Spanish issued Platinum.
Have been with AMEX for close to 2 years and have flawless payment history. Will they make me leap through hoops to get a Platinum international dollar card?

Secondly, I understand that to pay these account you have to wire money to the UK. How exactly does this process work and is it convenient? Do they coordinate the billing cycle to allow ample time for you to wire? Do they accept online pay? Do they send you the card and all of the bills from the UK?

As you can see I am full of questions.
