I just did a search on Google for 'airline "global hubs" africa' and came across this thread. Perhaps someone has an answer to these queries or where I can look for further information. If one wishes to fly from Central America (Guatemala or Honduras) to Africa (Mozambique or Malawi or Tanzania or Uganda), which global hubs serve this region of Africa? If one is originating in th Americas, do all flights to Africa get routed through London, via the United States? Do 'affordable" Central America-Brazil/Argentina-East Africa routes exist? Finally, is there a map on the internet where one can visualize the global hub system as it relates to the African continent? Thanks. Steve
P.S. I think many people nowadays are getting fed up with the process of transiting the United States. I haven't flown out of/in to the United States in a number of years, but I've heard it's not the pleasant experience it once was. Naturally, if alternative, affordable routes exist to Europe and points beyond, for those that don't now reside in North America, then those people might opt to not transit that country. But I guess French Guiana isn't up and running yet, eh!
