I'm sorry to say we've had the opposite experience there during irregular ops, as they proceeded to split me and + 1 onto different flights and wouldn't even try to keep us together.
I must admit I've never had any irregular ops experience. But the girls at the Premier check-in have always been very helpful with my (admittedly simple) requests.
