IC Cleveland

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes. You certainly can’t go wrong with an IC at this price!!!

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked a “King Superior” room at a AAA rate of $125 for a one-night stay. ^ Great rate. The IC Cleveland Suites was actually available for $99! (Yep, you read that right, $99) for the same night, but I did my due diligence here on FT and found out that RAs get basically nothing extra at the IC Suites property since all the rooms are the same and none of them have minibars. What’s the fun in that?!??!??! Do any RAs stay at that one?!?!? Anyways, I got upgraded to a “1 King Bed Executive Junior” (a standard Jr suite) from my Superior Room, but I did NOT get club access.

- How are the rooms?

Room was nice. Fairly large.

- How is the exec. lounge?

Don’t know as I wasn’t granted Club access.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Nice, large Suite……………and of course the minibar.
Bad: Nothing real bad, except no Club access since I got a Suite upgrade.

Now here was my dilemma in this situation: The standard (cheapest) room at this place on the Friday night I was there was $139. The Jr Suite rate was $199. The standard Club room was $239. And the Club Jr. Suite was something rediculous like $600. I’ve heard from reading threads that RAs can choose if they want Club access or a Suite upgrade at this IC. Now just by looking at the rates, my gut was telling me to go with the standard Club room since it was $100 more than my room and the Jr Suite was only $60 more than my room. But the Amb program was/is also having a special promo at this property where if you show your Amb card at check-in you get free breakfast for 2. So I figured if I get breakfast and I get free minibar already, then all I’m missing out on by not choosing the Club room is the appetizers in the evening, right? So basically it came down to appetizers and a small room vs a bigger Jr Suite and NO appetizers. Against my gut instinct telling me to always aim for the room with the higher rate, I requested a Jr. Suite as my upgrade in the “Comments” section of my reservation and that’s what I got. Was this the right choice?

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Excellent value for money. Can’t go wrong at the rate I paid for my room. I just wish more ICs were this cheap!! Yes, I would return again.
