I fully agree.

JFK is way to important to DL. Remember because of all the international flights & high rollers they do a few things in NY that NW does not have experience with:
  • International lounges for BizElite pax (in addition to the CR's)
  • A driveway/drop-off area for Elite pax
  • Some very sophisticated marketing & branding throughout NYC.
That said, DL's JFK operation is horrible, the remodel is mostly new signage and has done nothing to improve the pax experience. And of course they cannot control the congestion. NW & KL are next door in terminal 4 with a small, mostly outsourced operation so I'd unfortunately see NW/KL moving over to T2/3 with a merger. DL's operation at JFK is simply too large to move.
