I'm not talking about the int'l flights as much as the domestic feeder flights. They could probably cut down some of their midwestern and southern routes if they merged since a lot of that traffic could be shifted to CVG/DTW/ATL etc. It would also be to their advantage since the East Coast is already so congested as it is. Shifting the connections a bit further west or south would reduce many of the delays people face when flying in/out of NYC. The remaining major O/D flights (SFO, LAX, SEA, etc.) would likely remain untouched.
