Of course! I never would have gone to Bilbao if it hadn't been for the Guggenheim--though the Bilbao airport by Santiago Calatrava was an unexpected bonus. I was in Japan for other reasons, but went to Kobe and Osaka to see several examples of Tadao Ando's work. Also saw his work in Kyoto, Tokyo and Gifu. (OK I'm an Ando fan). What better reason to go somewhere than to see terrific architecture. For the most part our day-to-day environment is so banal, architecturally speaking.
