Have not been to Florence so not sure how these two hotels compare. Looked up the Plaza and from what I can see online it appears to have decent reviews, but from photos and price point the Plaza Lucchesi does not appear to be at the same level as Bernini Palace.
Any input on how the two hotels compare (location, room, etc)?
Should I ask AMEX vacations to offer another hotel (which one?)
And if I do take the offer, what else should I ask for since I am really helping them out by moving hotels.
Thanks!
Have you checked w/the Hotel Bernini directly to see if they have any rooms available for the time you booked. Often times, hotels set aside X # of rooms for tour organizers for a reduced rate. It is entirely possibly that the Bernini has availability during your trip time, just not at the reduced rate. If they do have rooms, then demand that AMEX place you in the hotel you originally booked. ANy difference in price is their problem, not yours. In the event the Bernini is really booked completely, then you really have no choice but to accept the Lucchesi - precisely for the reasons stated by other posters.
