I *think* I've gathered from these forums that miles from US Air "count" towards miles on United? Can someone verify this for me without using acronyms or other "travel speak"? lol. I've been flying since I was born but never took the time to understand all the codes and levels of flight.

Anyway, I've just recently (in the past 2 years) started a "serious" mileage program (I had done the Southwest rapid rewards, but that's it). I'm on Delta's program (which I NEVER fly), US Air (which has good prices and times for trips to Texas from PA) and my main program is United (they service most of the east coast and I have their Chase visa card for added miles).

Now, if I can use US Air to fly to Texas and have that count on my United program, how do I do it? Must I book through US Air website? (versus expedia for example) Do I put my US Air member number on my reservation, or use my United one?
