Happened to me with LH (OK, not UA, but close
) My little commute FMO-FRA was cancelled and I would miss my FRA-IAD-SFO-HNL connections. I needed to call SF from Germany and the agent just gave me the phone, no questions asked - I wasn't even FTL back then... But maybe that's just the benefit of flying (or not
) out of a smaller airport.
