I think the two events are unrelated (unless you got First tags as a result of th eop-up ) - the baggage situation at LHR is a disgrace (looking back my two week delay whilst there on a trip seems ok by comparison to some).

Sadly apart from some mile (always welcome of course) all they can do is "everything will be fixed by T5..."
