I wouldn't be so quick to say it is not a safety issue. Folks die from heat-related incidents all the time. I would wager more than die in airplane accidents. 90+ temps and humidity, combined with a metal oven and body heat doesn't sound safe to me.
You mention humidity which makes me wonder, doesn't the onboard A/C unit also regulate the humidity onboard? Doesn't the humidity need to be kept very low to prevent corrosion? I know the composites in the 787 for the first time allow for higher humidity, so could having increased humidity in an older aluminum aircraft body be a safety risk?
