Hi Guys,

I know this is probably beat to death 100 times, but I did a quick search on this topic, and it seems like everyone is voting for premium airline tickets (with the Delta bonus). Unfortunately, I don't have any travel plan (at least in the next year or so), and have quite a bit of miles stashed in my United account. In addition, I have status with United, so redeeming miles can be done easily without any fees (for 1K member), where as a general member in Delta, I'll most likely be charged for booking, refund, changes, etc.

Here is a quick background: I have 160,000 MR with my corporate American Express. In another month, I'll be leaving my work. I have the following options:

a) Open another American Express card and continue the MR program there. There is a possibility to obtain more points for opening a new credit card.
b) Redeem all my points for gift cards, merchandise, etc. Unfortunately, I don't have any need for merchandise. Gift cards would be nice, but the conversion ratio is horrible.

Does anyone have any other recommendations?
