eastbay: this is one of the somewhat big dilemmas of judaism.. MANY conservative jews would never think to eat leavened products during passover or anything on yom kippur.. and yet these same people think nothing of eating a bacon cheeseburger or shrimp/lobster cocktail or (probably the biggest one) chinese food with pork in it.. double standard? yes..
at the same time.. i dunno if i can quite understand the airlines inability to have a kosher meal during passover for a first class passenger who from your description wasn't operationally upgraded there.. so he probably paid for at least a business class ticket..
